“Over 50 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., described Girl Scouts as a ‘Force for Desegregation.’ Let’s continue to work together to break down barriers and ensure that our work is inclusive of all girls. Helping them to reach their full potential and make their unique dreams a reality.”
This was how Peggy Maguire ended her acceptance speech for the 2015 Women of Distinction Award at the Girl Scout event honoring her and her fellow winner, Judge Adrienne Nelson. A committee chooses the women to honor with this award, who embody the characteristics of the Girl Scout mission….courage, confidence and character.
Peggy is in good company; other recipients of the award include: Governor Barbara Roberts and Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum. Peggy’s friends and family cried along with her as she thanked: “her family of origin, the family she created with her husband of 26 years, her family of friends, her work family and her Girl Scout family.”
Cambia Health Solutions congratulates Peggy Maguire for winning the 2015 Girl Scouts Women of Distinction Award. We would also like to thank the Girl Scouts organization for the amazing work they do and for recognizing Peggy’s years of leadership in the community.
