Cambia's Black Organization for Leadership Development Employee Resource Group (BOLD ERG) and our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team joined forces this year to provide service opportunities for Cambia employees to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day. As a federal holiday and a National Day of Service, the holiday also offers employees the chance to honor King’s life and legacy by volunteering for a community service project.
The BOLD ERG and the CSR team made it easy for employees to get involved. They organized projects across our four-state footprint that offer the opportunity to, as our Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and BOLD Executive Sponsor Sam Yamoah says, “reflect and come together as a community to advance the work of Dr. King.”
The projects focus on addressing food insecurity. Employees are headed to food banks and other food distribution programs to help pack food for people in need. The service projects are taking place at:
- Backpack Brigade, Seattle, Wash.
- Emergency Food Network, Tacoma, Wash.
- The Idaho Foodbank, Boise, Idaho
- The Idaho Foodbank, Lewiston, Idaho
- Oregon Food Bank, Portland, Ore.
- Utah Food Bank, Salt Lake City, Utah
We are proud to see our employees show up for their communities and thankful to the teams that organized these events.
