Today, Cambia employees pause to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To mark the occasion, Jared Short, Cambia President and CEO, and Kilaa Slaughter-Scott, employee and chair of the Black Organization for Leadership Development (BOLD) employee resource group, met to have a conversation about Dr. King and his legacy.
During their conversation, Short and Slaughter-Scott discussed how employees at Cambia have the opportunity each day to honor Dr. King through our work to drive health equity. Slaughter-Scott also shared how her family takes the opportunity to reflect together. She and her husband ask their two sons about their hopes and dreams, and emphasizes that, “you are never too young or too old to dream.”
They urged Cambia employees to similarly reflect on the meaning of the holiday, consider serving their communities and continue to connect the work we do every day to King’s legacy of equality.
