As part of this year’s Cambia Portland Classic, I had the privilege of hosting more than 50 community and business leaders for the annual Portland Classic Women’s Leadership Breakfast. Joining me for a panel discussion on wellness and professional development were:
Susannah Morgan, Chief Executive Officer of Oregon Food Bank
Lisa Herlinger, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ruby Jewel
Jan Robertson, Chief Operating Officer and a partner of Norris, Beggs & Simpson Companies
These leaders shared stories and offered a number of insights on topics including the importance of mentorship, giving back to the community, and learning from mistakes.
Throughout the weekend, spectators were treated to a title-defending performance by 18-year-old golfer Brooke Henderson. Last year’s tournament win helped Brooke break onto the international spotlight. Now, a year later, it was an honor to witness one of the world’s best golfers at the top of her game.
The Cambia Portland Classic is the longest-running, non-major tournament on the LPGA tour. This year was 45th anniversary of the tournament, offering the opportunity to celebrate the impact this marquee event has had on our community, and celebrate the new generation of female athletes who are raising the bar on what’s possible.
On behalf of Cambia, thank you to all of the competing athletes, business leaders, fans and volunteers who came together for a memorable 2016 Cambia Portland Classic.
