As a passionate and constant advocate for people to have greater ease of access and portability of their health data, Cambia Health Solutions is proud to be a founding member of both the CARIN Alliance and The Da Vinci Project.
Consumers should be able to easily access their personal health data across all payer and provider networks and share it as needed. This will ensure better care, greater cost transparency, and empower people on their health and wellbeing journeys—from birth to completion of life. Cambia strongly believes in trust and transparency, and that consumers have the right to know which organizations have their health data and how it’s being used.
In conjunction, Cambia is also advocating for breaking down health data siloes through The Da Vinci Project, an effort to improve data sharing in value-based care and help different organizations better deliver on clinical quality, cost and care management outcomes. As part of our commitment, Cambia is joining with two of our major provider partners to deliver Da Vinci Use Cases in 2019. The goal is to reduce provider burden and simplify their daily workflow processes by automating payer-based administrative and clinical requirements for coverage.
Since its founding in 2016, the CARIN Alliance has made significant progress in fostering and creating a community to support and advance a consumer-centric health data standards framework. CARIN’s vision is to rapidly advance the ability for consumers and their authorized caregivers to easily get, use, and share their digital health information when, where, and how they want. As an early adopter of the FHIR standard and through our work in the CARIN Alliance, Cambia has been deeply involved in creating the technical aspects of the Common Payer Consumer Data Set – a new framework to promote consumer data access through standard APIs and broad interoperability amongst payers, providers and third parties. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the CARIN Alliance as this and other frameworks are further developed.
