The Technology Association of Oregon recently hosted an event centered on how technology is transforming health care delivery, from consumer tools to DNA sequencing to medical simulation.
"In our minds, it's about giving patients the power to make informed decisions," said Torben Nielsen, general manager of HealthSparq, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cambia Health Solutions that estimates the cost of care.
Wellero, another Cambia spinoff, offers a mobile app that allows you to pay for your health care visit before you leave the doctor's office.
"We're trying to fill a gap to work with insurance companies to make the data transparent," said Hanny Freiwat, co-founder and president.
