Due Date Plus app guides healthier behaviors, financial well-being and access to company benefits
Portland – Wildflower Health, a leader in enterprise mobile health programs, and LifeMap Assurance Company, an insurance provider offering group life, disability and individual short term medical coverage, have teamed up to launch the smartphone pregnancy app LifeMap Due Date Plus to expectant parents with short term disability coverage.
Maternity care is the top short term disability claim LifeMap processes each year. Due Date Plus offers a needed service to pregnant LifeMap members by providing helpful resources, and identifying risks that could lead to delivery complications. Specifically, LifeMap Due Date Plus offers: pregnancy milestone tracking, health tips, the ability to monitor troublesome symptoms, and set financial reminders such as applying for disability benefits, adding dependent coverage, and more.
The LifeMap Due Date Plus program launched in both the iTunes and Google Play stores to help LifeMap short term disability members have a healthier pregnancy and delivery. Within the program they can learn more about their additional LifeMap benefits, including dental care and life insurance coverage, at a time that’s relevant to them.
“There’s a lot to keep track of during pregnancy. LifeMap Due Date Plus gives our expectant members with short term disability coverage the tools they need to experience a healthier and happier pregnancy experience,” said LifeMap CEO Beth Andersen. “We’re also pleased to offer these members a tool that can help them with their overall financial well-being.”
“By helping pregnant women and their partners map their pregnancy milestones and track their progress with tools and tips, the program presents benefits in the context of issues as they arise during pregnancy,” said Leah Sparks, CEO of Wildflower Health. “We are excited to launch this program, configured to highlight the ancillary benefits LifeMap offers.”
Maternity and newborn care is a top cost driver of hospital charges, costing more than $100 billion a year, according to the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. With one in eight babies born prematurely, many born early due to lack of proper prenatal care, Due Date Plus assists expectant mothers with an on-the-go resource to help encourage healthy nutrition and exercise and receive timely reminders that promote financial wellness and more.
“After researching other tools in the market, LifeMap chose Wildflower Health as a partner because of their high engagement rates and their ability to pinpoint useful information for expectant mothers,” said Andersen. “LifeMap is consistently seeking ways to provide innovative tools to members, and it was really exciting to partner with a company offering support at such an important time in our members’ lives.”
