Portland, OR – Cambia is pleased to welcome Jim Guyn, M.D., to the company, where he will leverage more than 25 years of experience in clinical practice to help lead Cambia’s accountable health efforts and quality programs.
In 2013, Cambia’s health insurance plans implemented 34 accountable health provider contracts, which require providers to control costs and to meet a number of quality criteria. Dr. Guyn will work closely with Cambia’s medical directors to oversee the company’s clinical engagement and collaboration with the accountable health provider networks. He will also provide leadership for all of Cambia’s quality programs, including HEDIS, eValue8, health plan accreditation and Medicare Star Ratings.

For the past six years Dr. Guyn has served in senior physician executive leadership roles at Medica Health Plans in Minnesota. Previously, he served as an Adjunct Professor of Family Practice at the University of Minnesota, an emergency physician for two years in Saudi Arabia, and a clinician in Germany for five years caring for US military personnel and their families. Dr. Guyn completed his medical training at the University of California at Los Angeles and his Family Practice residency at Ventura County Medical Center.
