BridgeSpan Health Company, an affiliate of Cambia Health Solutions, today announced the appointment of Chris Blanton as president, effective June 17, 2013.
“Chris brings to BridgeSpan a proven record of leadership and effectiveness in growing membership in a competitive market,” said Jared Short, president of Health Insurance Services for Cambia Health Solutions. “His strategic vision will help us build a new experience for people who will soon be managing their health insurance benefits through the online exchange marketplace.”
Created by Cambia Health Solutions, BridgeSpan will offer products for individuals on the health insurance exchange marketplaces in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah beginning Jan. 1, 2014.
“Individual consumers have made it clear they want access to a consumer-friendly exchange marketplace to shop for health insurance,” Short said. “BridgeSpan will take the knowledge we’ve gained over nearly 100 years and focus it on responding to changing individual market expectations.”
Prior to joining BridgeSpan, Blanton was president and general manager of Cigna Pacific Northwest where he served as the company’s market leader in Washington, Oregon, Montana and Alaska. Additionally, he was vice president of sales at Cigna, responsible for new sales and retention in Orange County and San Diego, Calif. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington.
