Cambia Health Solutions' latest in-house startup, Muse, takes aim at unexplained medical symptoms, using an intervention developed by a clinician from Harvard Medical School.
Muse has been piloted at Dr. Danica Clark's clinic, Legacy Medical Group Northeast, since last May. So far, eight of her patients have used Muse. She refers them and then specially-trained clinicians in Portland do video consultations.
Zhenya Abbruzzese, a manager at Cambia who came up with the Muse idea, said patients have reported an average 40 percent improvement in such areas as quality of life and health-related anxiety. The program is being piloted at three clinics. Cambia is funding it currently but hopes eventually insurers will see the value and pick up the tab.
