The Portland Business Journal announced today that Mark Ganz, Cambia Health Solutions has been named Health Care CEO of the Year. Elizabeth Hayes reported, “Under the leadership of Mark Ganz, Cambia Health Solutions has redefined what a health insurance company is all about.” When Mark took the post of CEO in 2003, he defined a Cause which has continued to provide clear direction for the company – to be a catalyst for transformation, creating a more person-focused and economically sustainable health care system. Regardless of role or title, everyone in the company lives and breathes this Cause.
In addition to making significant strides toward a personalized health care experience for consumers, Mark mentioned the ground breaking work in palliative care by the Cambia Health Foundation and within the Regence health plans as key successes in 2014. Regarding the company’s direction for 2015, we’ll see continued focus by Cambia and Cambia’s Direct Health Solution Companies to help consumers integrate health care to meet their individual needs, creating a seamless, frictionless health care experience. When asked about his leadership style, Mark had this to say, “I guess you can call it servant leadership. You serve the people you lead. It's not as much about command as about helping them succeed and helping them feel inspired by the work that they're doing and really care about it.”
